Information
Ceremonies are performed in English and times are usually 4 and 5.30pm. The ceremony usually takes 45mins.
Marriages are registered in the civil registry in Nerja town hall.
Baptisms and renewal of vows ceremonies
If you´re Catholic you can have your child baptised in the church. God parents must also be Catholic.
If you were married in the Catholic church you can renew your marriage vows in the church. This is popular for couples who wish to celebrate a big anniversary.
Nerja Church

The church El Salvador in Nerja is an impressive building situated right next to the Balcon de Europa. You can marry legally in the church if at-least one of you is Catholic (baptised and confirmed) and neither of you were previously married in the church. If this is not the case for you you could have an Anglican (Protestant) ceremony in the church although this is not an official wedding ceremony so you would need to marry legally in your home country before you come to Nerja.
The paperwork is started no more than 6 months in advance
